Okay, so I've been playing a lot of Nethack recently.
For those of you who may not know, Nethack is an old-school ASCII dungeon game, filled with traps, treasures, and endless surprises. It's quite addictive.
Of course, like all open-source software, Nethack has idiosyncracies that I guess the programmers just expect you to puzzle out for yourself. In my case, this manifests itself as an inability to save my game.
What this means is that once I start playing, I'm locked in. I can't stop. If a particular game lasts more than, say, an hour, I'll have to leave the computer running with Nethack in the background, hoping that no one interferes with it while I'm gone.
Fortunately, I've never had a Nethack campaign last more than fifteen minutes.
