Re: Am I crazy, or...

"Oh, you can’t help that," said the Cat: "we’re all mad here. I’m mad. You’re mad." "How do you know I’m mad?" said Alice. "You must be," said the Cat, "or you wouldn’t have come here.” “Have I gone mad? I'm afraid so. You're entirely Bonk...

Re: Investopia

BTW, I would be MORE than a little offended should someone decide to compare me to a beverage, with the possible exception of top tier champagne. *Possibly* :)
I have a reply prepared if confronted directly by a woman/beverage comparison; however, it is far too obscene to include here. ;)

Re: Investopia

The REAL problem is, (in the U.S.. at least) is that many assistance programs need fundamental overhaul. For example, one of my grandfathers was a multi-millionaire. He used to chuckle evilly and gloat when got his monthly Social Security check (which was as large as it gets), even though he didn't...

Re: Investopia

* The US already spends about a trillion dollars a year on its "social safety net", and clearly it's not working very well -- and most basic income schemes would cost 3 times that, or more. . Just because one particular country is doing it wrong doesn't mean it can't be done right. In the...

Re: Whatever happened to the conspiracy?

Jamie probably wanted to know why someone would go through the expense of filling a corpse full of PCP (post decapitation) to coverup a stolen ID. Yeesh, that right there is a broken Chekov weapon. Dead bodies don't circulate drugs. Any third-rate autopsy would catch that the PCP tox screen was jus...

Re: 988: In which Lily is not serviced

I think the whole bathroom argument overlooks a bigger, yet less visible minority. Bladder shy persons outnumber transfolk 7:1, but where's ou- their special bathroom? I would think that any bathroom that has stalls with doors that can latch would do the job. As I understand it, even men's bathroom...

Re: 988: In which Lily is not serviced

All the restrooms at Vanderbilt Hospital Clinic are unisex--one person at a time. Each doctor's office in the Clinic usually has at least 2 or 3 separate bathrooms. For that matter, every doctor's office I've been to have unisex bathrooms--again, one person at a time. They all have very sturdy locks...

1. Re "well-managed debt" and home mortgages: That can vary enormously across the U.S. Here in Nashville, it is literally a landlord's market, and given current and recent interest rates, one can easily have a home mortgage payment that is much lower than the rent on a crappy apartment. He...
