I think it's a cable of some sort, actually. Note that it appears to be plugged into something - a tablet? - in panel 3, and a jack of some sort is visible in 991.

The question, of course, remains.

Re: 985: Side hustle

I still think that if you can't take eight hours off now and then without danger, that's a symptom of a dramatically broken system.

Florenovia's got its points I disagree with, but at least nobody dies solely because they aren't industrious enough.

Re: 876: "Fuck" indeed.

Reading today's page, I found myself wondering... Did Lily hire Gina and Ellen on the assumption (or, worse, the perhaps-implicit condition) that they wouldn't get laid? Or is there something more going on here?

Gross. Reminds of the mormon tendency to baptize the dead. [/quote] For the record, official policy is that you don't do that unless living descendants of the person in question have specifically authorized it. Not that that stops everyone, but that's the instruction. (Amusingly, I've got an ancest...

Re: Ethics of lying

I have no prior knowledge of the book, but for years my definition of "lie" has boiled down (and not very far) to "intent to deceive".

Re: 778: Sexual People Are Weird

Did Jamie say anywhere that he didn't like Gina because she wasn't slutty enough? That's a rather unflattering way to talk about Gina. Ellen's been... unflattering about Gina before , to her face even. (That was, I think, a different instance than I was looking for, but I've got to get ready for th...

Re: On Rape, Impairment, and Consent

I see no reason why they shouldn't be considered equally guilty, all other things (such as why they're drunk) being equal. On a related note, it's occurred to me to wonder whether "future consent" is a thing - that is, if one person says "you may have sex with me later tonight", ...

Re: #745 - Isn't it ironic?

It is, perhaps, worth noting that I have never heard the song in question, and yet I knew exactly what Ellen was referring to by the end of panel 2.

Re: #742 - In which Jamie's ensemble is deemed insufficient

It occurs to me - quite belatedly - to wonder where Ellen's pushing Jamie. Neither she, nor any other cast member I can think of, strikes me as likely to have a suit that Jamie could wear without looking ridiculous. Indeed, of the first few tiers of the cast, only Wallace seems likely to have a read...

Re: #742 - In which Jamie's ensemble is deemed insufficient

Wow, different experiences. I wear a suit roughly once a week, and have done so for... probably a bit over ten years now; I don't actually remember when I got my first one, except that it was before I went away to college. Currently I've got two, thanks in large part to having no real idea how to sa...
