Re: Moral Foundations Theory

I value Truth, but I think it might just be that it is the only application of Sanctity to my way of thinking. In any case, the original list was known to be potentially incomplete and expandable.

Re: 861: Confession time?

Personally, I think this will work out okay in Jamie's favor. He will confess what he did, what he planned to do, what he found, and Cheryl will say something along the lines "I know now know you well enough that you would come up with a plan THAT idiotic". I believe you are wildly overes...

Re: 859: That's one way to wrap up a comic

What you have to keep in mind is that, even though it is sometimes a rational decision, in most of cases people who commit suicide are not thinking about their problems rationally. Even if you can point to some cases of suicide where it was the right thing to do, these are extremely rare and prevent...

What record of racial violence? Sure they have similar names but Jamie Halligan is clearly unrelated to Jamie Halliganiv.

Re: #858: Bloody Mess

I don't get the foreshadowing. This is explained in the other thread for this comic: No, it's because if you look closely at the Wok of Destiny (WoD?), you can see a human head, a blood spatter, and a shotgun. And the extended chess metaphor. EDIT: I guess I'll just quote what I put in the sibling ...

Re: 858: Jamie's plan

Even though Jamie is just the kind of idiot to talk to the body, why did he take his mask off?

Update! http://leftoversoup.com/ Enter... The Rook. The name pattern continues. We have now seen (Richard) Knight, (Rick) Bishop, (Dick) McQueen, and The Rook. Also, the guy who runs the juice bar is Bruce Aaron King. It's not obvious to me how he fits into all this, though... A pawn shop will play...

Re: Human-backed derivative

I don’t think the idea is buying equity in a human; down that road lies slavery. If you think Tailsteak is going to buy a car, then you should not buy this product, but he is under no obligation to ensure it gains value. Other people have pointed out upthread that this causes a different problem, ...

What about strip 93? Obviously it’s not in the next 100 strips, but would it have counted?

Re: 857: Well, that happened.

Ideal is hard to ask for. Best practical case scenario was obviously that Jamie recognized that Cheryl was right and he would need to kill the guy, so decided to take Max’s suggestion about how to be an executioner: ask the guy his favorite food, then cook it with poison and feed it to him. There ...
