Farewell, Sir Terry

Post by JustinReilly »

I knew it was coming, but I hoped it wouldn't be so soon. Ugh, I don't know what else to say. My heart goes out to his family. The world has lost one of the great ones.

The first Discworld book I read was "Sourcery". I'm pretty sure I still have it somewhere, though of all his storylines I think I ended up liking the ones about Vimes and the City Watch the most.

Small Gods, The Truth, and Pyramids are still three of my favourite books ever, no qualifier. I can only hope to bring 1% of Sir Pratchett's wit and wisdom into the world.

This is something I still don't want to be true.

I was particularly pleased by this tribute which embeds his name in "the clacks" so he won't be forgotten. I thought others might enjoy.

I was trying to figure out if there was a way to do that in my signature on this forum! Sadly, if there is one, I couldn't find it.
