I don't have a FL account myself, but I'm given to understand
a) it's not just for BDSM
b) you don't have to use your real name
c) you don't have to make your profile publicly visible or searchable.

Nope! That's sortof its bread and butter, but it's got groups on pretty much everything outside the norm (and a few things inside it). You can find groups based on mutual interests, and learn more about them. You can also set it so that any pictures you post are completely limited to those you friend, not the rest of the site.snowyowl wrote:I always thought Fetlife was specifically for BDSM, which doesn't line up very well with my own interests. Is there more to it than that?

There's a good Oh Joy Sex Toy comic (that page slightly NSFW; the site overall very NSFW) about Fetlife that might be of interest: http://www.ohjoysextoy.com/fetlife/
Re: "Six degrees" fetish forum
I've never used Fetlife, but my suggestion would be 4chan or 8chan. Both have sizeable fetish communities that extend well beyond BDSM, or indeed the physically possible. Also, imageboard, so lots of porn.

Also, DUDE! (to the OP). There is no place more anonymous than the internet. If you're really nervous, use one of the many anonymizers out there, so no one can get your IP, if that's why you're freaking.
Furthermore, if simply asking for help re your particular kink makes you this anxious, may I humbly suggest seeking therapy w/ possible medication? Finding a good psychiatrist is a challenge; Sturgeon's Law* really applies in that field. Still, they do exist. Do some research.
Try to remember that if what makes you happy does not harm anyone else, and in fact could help make another person more happy, then you are still a good person. No matter what some others (who raised you?) might think. More happiness in the world = Good.
* In 2013, philosopher Daniel Dennett championed Sturgeon's Law as one of his seven tools for critical thinking. I tend to agree.
