Roll To Save

Post by Jim Nickabocker »

Welcome! This is a thread about Mason and I's comic; Roll To Save!

If you have any questions about the comic, characters, story or just want to talk about it, feel free to take it up here. As the comic's writer, I'd be more than happy to engage anyone who wants to talk about our little venture. So anywho, have it!

Not being previously familiar with said comic or having found a link to it on Leftover Soup, I would appreciate directions.

Oh! Absolutely! Sorry about that, I knew I was forgetting something!

It seems that you'll be diving in from the beginning, so allow me to clarify the most notably curious thing about the comic. When you start reading, it will be quite obvious that the first artist is not Tailsteak. Nor the second. Nor the third. Tailsteak is the fourth artist whom has thankfully saved my comic from an eternal hiatus. When he took over, I decided to make a bold decision and have him draw in the style of Leftover Soup since I was quite fond of his art style. If the whole anime/manga style isn't your thing, feel free to skip to strip #24 via the archive. I have also organized the archive so that it displays strips by number and by artist.
As always feel free to ask any questions or to engage in discussion about the comic!

So I went through the archive, and between the title and constant reminders that this is a comic about people who play D&D, I must admit that I expected to see a little more of that in the comic itself. I'll probably check back on it every now and then.

Thank you so much for checking it out!
Roll To Save doesn't focus solely on D&D, though it's referred to quite frequently, especially in future strips. It's mostly about the characters whom end up becoming friends due to game, their interactions with each other and their world.

Not exclusively on D&D? It hardly seems to touch on D&D at all, based on my very short yet complete-seeming archive trawl. How many comics were there? Did I miss most of them?

Hey there, thanks for checking the comic out! D&D is eluded to a couple of times but it hasn't been the main focus since the comic's launch. In upcoming arcs however, you'll finally be witnessing them playing a campaign together!

You might like to consider adding previous/next buttons above the comic page as well as under. The pages are long enough that getting to the buttons requires some scrolling. This is a pretty minor inconvenience, but still.

Hey there! Unfortunately adding the buttons above as well might prove a little challenging, I'll see what I can figure out. In the meantime if you're looking at a strip and don't want to scroll all the way down, if there's another page after it, you can simply click the image and it'll quickly go to the next one. Thanks for your feedback, it's always welcome!
