What exactly is Lilly swearing at in the first panel?

I think it's the first time she's seeing Gina after the makeover.

Am I the only one thinking "this is hella illegal/unethical/immoral" about that whole "boss goes to check in on someone who called in sick" thing?

Because that seems hella illegal/unethical/immoral.

Well...she's not just her boss, she's also her friend.
Far be it from me to defend Lily, though.

Presumably Lily is swearing at news of a coworker's absence, and has decided to meddle and drive to her house.

It is a bit unethical.

...What's the likelihood that that selfie Max took has since been texted to Lily?

As funny as the image of Lily just saying wtf for an hour straight is, it doesn't seem likely, so what is causing her to say it when she's in the car?

Have you never encountered something so mind-bogglingly incomprehensible to you that your initial reaction to it was 'what the fuck' and then randomly throughout the day, while trying to process the fact that the universe is in fact the kind of place that contains this thing, that you have aftershocks of fresh boggle and incomprehensibility?

I have. It's probably for the best that Gina's driving.

Gina looks really good today. If I was attracted to women I'd have a crush on her ... oh, nevermind, I have a crush on her anyway. She's cute.

Lily is angry because Ellen stays at home sick even though she is not sick - at least it seems she can deduce that from the message. Well, that's to be expected. Some employers would probably not turn up at your door to say "What the fuck?" but just fire you.

I think that is probably the most unethical thing that happened here. If it happened.
