50-30 is of course just outside acceptable according to the universally applicable half-age-plus-7 rule
although they could wait 4 years to be covered, or just say close enough, as apparently 1% of married couples in the USA do Age disparity in sexual relationship
and Roscoe has probably been established as a good Christian (how much does the exact sect within Protestantism matter to most Protestant churchgoers?), so Gina might even get her first kiss on her wedding day.
Yeah, according to the XKCD rule its just a little creepy, but there's also some discussion of age-appropriate relationships in the "soul-mates" What-if scenario that people might want to take into account, too: https://what-if.xkcd.com/9/
Eh... my biggest concern is whether or not they want the same things out of a potential relationship. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I was under the impression that Gina wanted kids someday. Would Roscoe want to start up another family all over again?
Another interesting question is to consider Gina's beliefs about the afterlife. In on strip, she said that she doesn't want to merry a person she will not be able to be with in the afterlife. Now, In this case - since he had a wife before her - even if he is christian, he wouldn't be able to be with her there. no?
You're arguing theology with a character from a story who will probably never speak another line of dialogue ever again in canon. And also, people are people. I once played as a priest in a Cthulu game, and I threatened to kill someone who pissed me off. People told me "That's a strange thing for a priest to do," to which I replied "That's a strange thing for a generic priest to do. My priest is human, and also, we're in some pretty strange circumstances right now. He is emotional and he is making stupid mistakes." I'd call that a perfectly plausible thing for a human being to do, and something like this is comparatively nothing at all.
