Yes, actually, as if they have lids, closing them is actually sort of a health issue. When a toilet flushes, microscopic particles kind of shoot out into the room. Or so Time Stop has told me.
This is a true-fact, it's pretty gross, like a toilet sneeze. I maintain the lid be left down, as does my girlfriend, because fecal bacteria's pretty nasty and it's hard enough to avoid in bathrooms as is...

Sir, the other gentlemen and I would appreciate a noticable lack of what is called 'necro'. Necro is often described as posting in a long dead thread, meaning that, seing as the post before yours was in February, and people here have a response time shorter than in 5 months, the discussion had died and was buried.

Necroposting doesn't generally bother me, but I think it is worthwhile to establish the norm with respect to such on this forum.

There was a post, made a few hours earlier, but it vanished. This guy posted it, and I'm not sure if he is a bot or not. He posted in the Prophet? thread too, but since it vanished from there as well, I also removed my answer to him. Anyway, my point is, these two were the top threads then.

And, by the way, I never understood it, what is so bad about necroposting? How does it inconvenience people, unless it needlessly pushes an active thread off the first page (which didn't happen here)? What do I do if I have an actual question on the issue, make a new thread?
Packbat is right, norms must be made. Sorry, TS.

Well, it's sort of like if someone did something memorable, then, after a week, people stopped talking about it, and suddenly, 5 months later, someone who wasn't there brought it up again. We stopped talking about it for a reason. So, as a rule, I disourage forum necromancy and refrain from it myself unless the necro is adding some new information. As you might imagine, I don't think Ryu's comment brought any new information or viewpoint.

Perhaps rather than necroposting, start a new thread with the same topic and a link back to the old, dead thread? Then that new thread can live or die on its merits.
Neither a creeper nor a jackass be; if you manage these two things, everything else should work itself out.

That's also an acceptable solution, and I encourage others to do so.

Yeah, what Globus said, I didn't realize this was from that far back because someone else posted here before me. I'm pretty new here so I just thought this was from a couple weeks back or whatever. I didn't check the date stamps. My bad.
